I have some work in the Adelaide Fringe in a show called 'little weeds: small acts of tenderness and violence'. The opening is on sat 27th Feb till 3rd March. At Peel Street, off Hindley st. Pictures to follow soon.
Mycology – the study of fungi is what inspires me to create artworks. I am fascinated by this fifth kingdom that not only produces amazing forms and structures of a wide variety of species but also is an important life force for this planet. Fungi play an important role in ecosystems by breaking down and recycling nutrients.
My work consists of using traditional silversmithing techniques while experimenting with different metals, surface treatments, patination applications.
Exploring size, form, colour and movement gives my practice many layers just like the growth of fungi. This has led me to create small and large scale forms using multiples, including jewellery, wall pieces and installations, while incorporating a variety of different materials.
I am drawn to the multiple intricacies which make up this amazing kingdom.
